Parent Code of Conduct
Minnesota Bobcats
Est 2018
The Minnesota Bobcats are deeply committed to fostering a fun, positive space where
young athletes can truly thrive. We believe our parents are vital partners in this mission.
This Parent Code of Conduct outlines the values and behaviors that support our players,
coaches, and the broader organization. By embracing these principles, we can unite to
create a healthy, respectful, and encouraging environment for every athlete on the team.
Please take a moment to review these details. Your alignment with these guidelines is
highly valued as we work together to achieve our goals.
As a Parent of an Athlete:
General Support
● I understand that youth sports exist for the benefit of athletes, not for the
entertainment or personal interest of parents, coaches, officials, or other adults.
● I will support the coaching staff and respect their decisions, even if I may personally
disagree.
● I will respect the decisions made by the Program Director and staff and trust they
are made in the best interest of the team and the organization.
● I fully support and align with the core mission, vision, and values that shape your
training and programming initiatives.
Competition & Practice
● I understand that playing time is determined by the coaching staff and is not
guaranteed to be equal among all athletes.
● I will focus my role at games and practices on supporting and encouraging the team,
and I will not provide instruction or coaching from the sidelines.
● I will maintain composure during competition and understand that my behavior
reflects directly on my family and the program and its reputation.
● I will demonstrate respect toward all individuals involved—including players,
coaches, officials, and fellow spectators—regardless of the outcome of a game. This
includes online conduct and use of social media.
● I will not engage in criticism or gossip regarding coaches, teammates, or other
families, and I will not engage in divisive behavior.
● I will respect the authority of game officials and scoring personnel and will not
engage with them during competitions.
● I will ensure my child is on time for training, practices and competitions. I will pick
up my child promptly after practice.
● If I remain onsite during my child’s practice, I will not interfere with programming
activities, stay in the designated spectator areas and ensure young siblings are
supervised
